Meet Mohamed RADI
Mohamed is a young artist from Taroudant, where he grew up right next to the leather artisans. It was there, in their workshops, that he fell in love with the material and learned to know it. He later studied at the École des arts de Tétouan, and today he works between Taroudant and Tétouan.
Mohamed is a leather artist. He works it, transforms it and reworks it, with a real gift for giving it new life. His creations already travel often from one exhibition to the next. But he is also a talented illustrator.
When he needs a breather, he retreats to his studio and draws. His illustrations are dreamy and sensitive, like a gentle pause between two pieces of leather.
With Agafay Books, he illustrates Les ailes invisibles, a picture book by Chrysultana inspired by the sculpture Vagues à l'âme by the artist Ikram Kabbaj. One artist responding to the work of another: it promises a lovely dialogue between material, image and words.
His wish is simple: that the children who open this book will love art, and one day become artists themselves.
