At Agafay Books, we believe Moroccan stories deserve to be seen and recognised beyond our borders. We aim to submit our books to national and international awards, because recognition is a way of honouring the authors and illustrators who create them, and of bringing Moroccan children’s literature to the attention of readers, librarians and publishers around the world.

For us, an award is not an end in itself. It is a proof that books rooted in Morocco, in its art, its nature, its languages and its imagination, can stand alongside the best in the world, and a way of opening the door for the next generation of Moroccan writers and artists.

Every book we publish is chosen with this ambition in mind: to be literarily worthy, beautifully made, and meaningful for its readers.
