OUR AUTHORS & ILLUSTRATORS
At Agafay Books, every story begins with a voice and every page is shaped by a hand. The authors and illustrators we work with are storytellers, thinkers and artists who bring Morocco's memory, landscapes and imagination to life.
Our authors and illustrators come from different paths and generations, but they share a single conviction: that Moroccan readers, at every age, deserve to see themselves in the books they open, in words and images that are honest, beautiful and made with care.
For us, a book is not made alone. It is a meeting between a story and a picture, and we are proud to bring them together.
Our illustrators
We work first and foremost with Moroccan illustrators. Every book has its own style, and our priority is to find the right person for it here in Morocco. When we can’t find the right match for a particular story, we look further afield, so that each book gets the illustrator it deserves.
Our aim is to build a community of illustrators in Morocco: artists who grow together, project after project, and who in time will be ready to exhibit their work internationally.
Our authors
We work with Moroccan authors, and with authors who live in Morocco and have Morocco in their hearts, whatever their origin. What matters is a real connection to the country, its languages, its people and its everyday life. Together, they give our books a Moroccan identity that readers can recognise and feel at home in.
