These booklets are much more than technical guides.

They pay tribute to our Amazigh heritage, preserve and pass on the ancestral knowledge of earthen construction, and provide a practical resource for Moroccans who wish to build their own homes using natural and sustainable materials, just as our ancestors did.

The series is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry, the Province of Taroudant, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and its partners. It supports the construction of a community complex in Douzrou, Taliouine.

Rammed earth is a traditional construction technique in Morocco, but the expertise required to use it effectively often remains in the hands of a small number of skilled craftspeople. This series makes that knowledge accessible to builders, with particular attention to seismic risk.

The three booklets cover the entire process of constructing a rammed-earth building, from planning to maintenance. They are primarily intended for rural craftspeople, masons, and self-builders who wish to construct rammed-earth buildings in Morocco. They also serve as a valuable resource for understanding the essential stages involved in planning such a project.

We hope this series will provide a practical and accessible tool to support the construction of rammed-earth buildings adapted to earthquake-prone areas.

The booklets are available free of charge and can be downloaded in PDF format in both French and Arabic.
